A furniture-maker, a lantern-maker and an ethical fashion designer share a shop. Sarah, Sean and Hannah have all been selling their work in other ways, but taking on their own retail space is a new move for them. As well as selling their work, they will be running workshops.
For over 10 years, Sean has been working with community groups to produce lanterns for carnivals such as the Thames Festival and Carnival de Pablo. He plans to run lantern making workshops in/around the unit and sell small table lanterns (£10-£30) and larger sculptural pieces (£50–100).
Sarah has been renovating furniture for many years, producing quirky, one-off pieces from furniture that was destined for landfill. Her prices range from £70 — £300.
Hannah set up the fair-trade clothing company, Fair Enough Stuff. She sells a range of fashion focused, funky children’s and women’s wear. Prices range from £8-£40.
The Wonderful World of… is now open in Unit 79 at Brixton Village.
